Washi Storage Tin

Handmade by skilled artisans in Japan, our double-lid washi storage tin is the ideal piece of teaware to protect your loose leaf tea from air, light, and moisture. This three-part storage container features a tin-plated steel body and outer lid wrapped with decorative yuzen washi paper and an inset gold-colored interior lid. The finished edges of the lid and body are hand-tooled to be completely flush with each other, providing an even surface to minimize friction and help prolong the life of the washi paper. As a result, the outer lid effortlessly slides on and off, making this tin super easy to use and helpful for arthritic hands.

The beautiful washi paper is skillfully hand-printed using the yuzen dyeing technique to produce the rich colors and delicate patterns. Its traditional geometric wave pattern (known as Seigaiha) is one of Japan's most beloved textile designs. This elegant repeating wave motif symbolizes the harmonious balance of nature, resilience, and peaceful, continuous fortune. To further highlight the artistry, the outer lid is engineered for perfect pattern alignment – simply twist counterclockwise until it clicks in place.

Three yuzen washi design options offer color-coded organization for your black, green, and white tea! Perfect for oolong, pu erh and herbal tea, too.  Available in Black/Gold, Green/Gold, and White/Gold.

Care and Handling:
To clean, gently wipe the surface with a damp cloth tightly wrung out of water, followed by a dry cloth.
Do not submerge or put in the dishwasher.
Make sure to dry out the surface completely when cleaning or if handled with wet hands.
Rusting may occur if the tin comes into prolonged contact with water or excessive humidity.

Made in Japan from lead-free and BPA-free tin-plated steel. The seams are electrically welded (no soldering).
