You guessed it, this contest highlights one of our favorite things - composting! Since 2010, we've packed our organic loose leaf teas and herbs in backyard compostable packaging, offering a sustainable no-waste alternative to our customers. We believe composting plays an important role in keeping our planet healthy and want to celebrate it with you!
Submit your best photo or video representing the theme “Composting at Home” for a chance to win over $5000 worth of prizes. We challenge you to find the beauty in composting and share it with us. Get down and dirty, be creative, joyful, or scientific, and most of all have fun!

The Can You Dig It? Photo and Video Contest is open for entries beginning May 3, 2020 and remains open all summer long (throughout the best months to compost!). The contest closes September 30, 2020. Each participant may submit up to 5 entries. Arbor Teas products and packaging do not need to be represented in submissions.

Can You Dig It? Photo and Video Contest begins May 3, 2020 and ends September 30, 2020. Entries must be submitted online.
By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to the Contest Rules.

WHO MAY ENTER:
The Can You Dig It? Photo and Video Contest is open to photographers and/or videographers of any age from the United States and Canada. Entrants who are under 18 years old must receive the permission of a parent or guardian to participate. Individuals affiliated with Arbor Teas, including employees and their immediate families (children, parents, siblings and spouses) and others living in their household, are not eligible for any prize. Arbor Teas will determine winners’ eligibility at its sole discretion.
WHAT TO ENTER:
Entrants should submit their best photo or video featuring their interpretation of the contest theme: Composting at Home. We encourage entrants to get down and dirty, be creative, joyful, or scientific and have fun showing us your love for composting! Each participant may submit up to 5 entries. A separate submission form must be submitted for each entry. Arbor Teas products and packaging do not need to be represented in submissions.
To be eligible, a photograph or video must have been shot by the entrant after January 1, 2020. This date applies to all images in a composite. The entrant certifies that he/she is the sole creator and copyright owner of the submitted photograph. Photos and videos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.
Photographs must be at least 1000 pixels wide and 1000 pixels tall, and must not exceed 3000 pixels tall, and 3000 pixels wide. Images can be square, horizontal, or vertical. Photographs must be submitted in .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format. The file size must be less than 10 MB. Entries with watermarks will not be considered.
Videos must be between 3 and 30 seconds in length. Videos can be horizontal or vertical. Videos must be submitted in .mp4, .mov, .mkv, or .m4v format and compressed with H.264, H.265, or HEVC Codec. The file size must be less than 100MB. Entries with watermarks will not be considered.
HOW TO ENTER:
Photographs and videos must be submitted online at www.arborteas.com/canyoudigit between May 3, 2020 and September 30, 2020. Participants may submit up to 5 entries and must complete a separate submission form for each photo or video submitted.
JUDGING:
Photo and video entries will be judged based on creativity, quality, originality, overall impact and interpretation of the theme.
PRIZES:
Arbor Teas will select one first prize winner, one second prize winner, and one third prize winner for the Photo Awards. Arbor Teas will select one first prize winner, one second prize winner, and one third prize winner for the Video Awards.
FIRST PRIZE PHOTO AWARD: $1,500 USD Visa Gift Card, plus a year’s worth of tea (valued at $300).
SECOND PRIZE PHOTO AWARD: $750 USD Visa Gift Card, plus a year’s worth of tea (valued at $300).
THIRD PRIZE PHOTO AWARD: $250 USD Visa Gift Card, plus a year’s worth of tea (valued at $300).
FIRST PRIZE VIDEO AWARD: $1,500 USD Visa Gift Card, plus a year’s worth of tea (valued at $300).
SECOND PRIZE VIDEO AWARD: $750 USD Visa Gift Card, plus a year’s worth of tea (valued at $300).

Arbor Teas will notify winners via the contact information provided at the time of entry; Arbor Teas may disqualify anyone who fails to respond to the notification within five business days.
Winners must sign a release and license, as well as a declaration of eligibility, and will be responsible for paying any fees or taxes associated with the prize. All prizes are awarded “as is” and non-transferable. The year’s worth of tea is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash. In case applicable law prohibits Arbor Teas from awarding a photographer or videographer a cash prize and/or any non-cash prize, Arbor Teas may award the prize in name only.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
It is understood by submitting an entry that the photo or video can be used publicly on both the Arbor Teas and the Can You Dig It Photo and Video Contest website, social media, newsletters, physical marketing materials, and any other use Arbor Teas sees fit.
The entrant retains the rights to the photograph or video; however, by entering the contest, the entrant grants Arbor Teas (and those authorized by Arbor Teas) a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotional emails, and on all social media platforms. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. Arbor Teas will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
For a photo or video in which a person is recognizable, the entrant must be prepared to provide a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian, to Arbor Teas upon request.
If the participant is unable to provide all required releases, Arbor Teas in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify the submission, seek to secure the required releases, or permit the submission to remain in the contest.
All entrants hold the Sponsor and its respective officers, employees, volunteers, and contest judges (the “Indemnified Parties”) harmless from and against all claims of any nature arising in connection with entrant’s participation in the contest and acceptance or use of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not liable for any costs, damages, injuries, or other claims incurred as a result of entrants’ participation in the contest or winner’s acceptance and usage of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not responsible for incomplete or misdirected entries, technical or network malfunctions or failures, or causes beyond their control. Entrants are solely responsible for their entries. Entrants may not submit materials that introduce any software viruses, worms or other programs designed to damage software, hardware or telecommunications equipment or are off-topic, partisan-political, contain advertising, nudity, personal attacks or expletives, or is otherwise abusive, threatening, unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, libelous, obscene, false, sexually explicit, or that infringes on the rights of any third party.
The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Arbor Teas reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, Arbor Teas reserves the right to award or not award the prizes in its sole discretion. Arbor Teas reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whose entry or conduct appears in any way to: inhibit the enjoyment of others; tamper with the competition; violate these rules or other applicable law or regulation; infringe on the rights of third parties; or act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. DECISIONS OF ARBOR TEAS ARE FINAL AND BINDING.
