Arbor Teas Launches 3 Teas in Reusable Packaging with LOOP
Good news for Portland metro customers! Beginning March 1, 2022, Arbor Teas organic, loose leaf tea in reusable stainless steel containers may now be available in a Fred Meyer store near you!
The Kroger Co., America's largest grocery retailer, and Loop, the circular reuse platform developed by TerraCycle, have launched a new way to shop, offering a selection of products in reusable packaging rather than in single-use options.
Through a first-of-its-kind partnership in the U.S., customers can now walk into one of 25 Kroger-owned Fred Meyer stores in the Portland metro area and purchase more than 20 products from leading consumer brands packaged in refillable, reusable containers.
The new Loop assortment includes a combination of well-known food and household products from a range of brands, includingĀ Arbor TeasĀ (featuring ourĀ Organic English Breakfast Black Tea,Ā Organic Earl Grey Black Tea, andĀ Organic Crimson Berry Fruit Tisane), Natureās Heart, Natureās Path, and Seventh Generation, as well as Krogerās own Simple Truth brand.
Once the product is used or consumed, empty packaging is returned to the Loop collection bin located at each participating store. Loop will then pick up the empty containers to be cleaned, refilled, and made available for purchase by a new customer!
For this innovative pilot project Arbor Teas is partnering with Loop. Loop is a global reuse platform enabled by a multi-stakeholder coalition of manufacturers, retailers, and consumers that aims to Eliminate the Idea of WasteĀ®. Loop partners with brands and retailers to shift from a disposable to durable supply chain.
Loopās movement to an in-store retail model began in Paris, France with Carrefour in December 2020. In May 2021, Loop launched in-store at AEON in Japan and in-store at Tesco in September 2021. Additionally, Loop launched a reusable packaging partnership with McDonaldās in the United Kingdom and recently with Burger King and Tim Hortons in select restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, respectively.
