Organic tea production makes a far smaller impact on the environment than conventional agriculture by eliminating the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). In doing so, organic teas yield a variety of benefits over conventional teas, including:

Better for Living Things. Organic agriculture is healthier for flora and fauna, as well as human health. Persistent agrochemicals can accumulate up the food chain, often resulting in a variety of health and reproductive ailments, including toxic dosages being consumed by top predators.

Better for Our Water. Organic agriculture lessens the eutrophication of water bodies. Excessive use of synthetic fertilizers can lead to algae blooms in nearby lakes and rivers, upsetting the delicate balance of those aquatic ecosystems and killing the many organisms that live there.

Better for Our Air. Organic agriculture is better for our atmosphere. The synthetic fertilizers and other agrochemicals that conventional farming relies on can be VERY energy-intensive to produce. This results in the emission of carbon and other contaminants which contribute to global climate change and various forms of air pollution.
